I bought this for our kitchen as it was the first low profile oven that really fit our need. Lot of room under it and we really only needed a microwave for reheat and occasional defrost and cook type of items. It only took about a month for small lines to start showing up on the black plastic area under the MW window on the front. Since that time we are now at the point where small pieces of black plastic are falling off of the door and the plastic is combining loose from the door. Generally, I would have expected this plastic to be phenolic or some other material like is used on the freestanding ovens where the handle is attached on the front of the oven door. These never have heat related issues with plastic cracking. Even in self-clean model, one never sees heat related cracks over the like of the appliance which is 10 years. MW have a 5 year life but for us with limited use as a a microwave, I would have expected twice that for the door assembly. Especially the esthetic trim. Purchased at Best Buy which shipped from warehouse/mfg direct to our house. Now kind of stuck finding a way to have this resolved. A new door would be fine if it is better quality and won't crack just because my wife uses the stove to cook underneath it.
