It is quiet and efficient, I would not reccomend for a large family.All I wanted was a basic appliance ,no ice ,water.Keep in mind it is a smaller side by side,so forget about freezing large items (whole pizza,large casseroles) the width is not there to accommodate.

We are satisfied but honestly the quality is not as good as the one we replaced that was manufactured in 1999, also a Whirlpool prodct.
