This was in the home when we purchased. If I was re-doing the kitchen I would not purchase this item. The extension is nothing more than flimsey metal. Looks good but its not

Good looking, great performance, and good support

This hood looks really good. The fan is fairly quiet on the first setting, but it has a ton of power on the higher settings if you need to quickly ventilate a lot of smoke/steam. The hood can with a really small dent in the front. I called whirlpool and they quickly sent out a replacement that was perfect.
