After 18 years of service it was time to replace all the kitchen appliances. Due to the down draft feature we were left with only 2 choices, and KitcheAid was chosen. This cooktop is a modern replacement to our older unit. Its design lends to easier cleanup, but other than that there is little difference in the "function" of the unit. Still it looks good and fires up quickly.
Looks nice and works great!

I read a few reviews were people said the downdraft was very strong and it pulled the flames down! Well I’ll tell you that wasn’t the case with mine! Mine looks great and works perfectly fine no complaints here!
I Love This Cooktop!

We purchased this cooktop about a month ago to replace a Jenn Aire downdraft that was about 12 years old. Why do I love this cooktop compared to my old one? The variety of size of burners is fantastic! The arrangement of the sizes on the cooktop is also great. Our previous one had a supersize in the bottom right, which seemed to get the most use because of the placement. Unfortunately, it also was way to hot for most simmers. The burner placement on this top is much more conducive to ease of cooking from simmers to boiling. The grate height is good and the weight of the grates is wonderful. Unlike our old one, I think the appearance of these grates will hold up well. The fan has 3 levels and the strength is good and strong. Cleaning the filter is very easy. The knobs are stylish and substantial. They don't feel thin and cheap at all. Each burner lights rapidly and the electronic ignition stops clicking as soon as the burner lights. I hope this continues, as the ignition clicking was also an issue with our previous cooktop. Finally, cleaning the cooktop has been a breeze. I couldn't be more pleased. We purchased this cooktop after reviewing downdraft cooktops on line. We visited Menards and Home Depot and neither had this cooktop on display, so we actually purchased it without seeing the unit. It is really an attractive cooktop! We did have the cooktop installed by a professional, but installation was quick and easily integrated with the existing downdraft exhaust and gas piping. All I can say is Wow! I love this cooktop and would highly recommend it!
